LITTLE PATIENTS IN HOSPITAL. TOLL TAKEN BY INFANTILE PARALYSIS. Dr Telford reported to-day that there are no infantile paralysis patients in the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Bottle Lake. There are thirtylive children suffering from the disease in the Public Hospital, but all of them arte getting on very well, and the controlling medical staff there believe that practically all the little patients ultimately will be left without any material after-weakness. This rescTt, iJr j eiiorci said, must be attributed to the use of the convalescent serum. From the time of the outbreak in the Christchurch health district, which comprises Canterbury and the West Coast, until noon to-day, 214 positive cases were reported in the district, and there were 27 deaths. The following cases were reported to-day:— A man, 37 years of nge, Tuam Street, positive. A girl. two years and a half, Colombo Street, Sydenham, indefinite. A girl, two years, Elgin, Ashburton County, positive.
