The Crcnvborough Magistrates remanded George Jeffrey, aged fifteen, on a charge of murdering Joan An nett. Being under sixteen, Jeffrey should have been sent to a remand home, but the police obtained an order for his committal to prison. It is understood that this is intended to facilitate the doctors’ observations in view of the boy's medical history.
