FERRY STEAMER’S TRIP. Weather conditions at Wellington yesterday continued inclement, heavy rams being experienced throughout the day. with variable winds. When the ferry steamer Mararoa left Wellington last* evening, she encountered a fresh southerly wind on passing Pen car row Heads. A fresh southerly with a very heavy south-east swell prevailed until passing the Kaikouras. The vessel, which brought about 200 passengers, berthed at 10 n.m. The passengers sav that the trip, although the conditions were not too good, was not altogether unpleasant.
