ADVERTISING THE PROVINCE.
SATISFACTORY PROGRESS. The organiser of the Canterbury Progress League (Mr P. R. Climie) reports that satisfactory progress is being ma le in the collection of money for the league’s Publicity Fund which will be used for tne purpose of advertising province at the British Empire Exhibi tion to be held next year. Jt is hoped to raise £3OOO. It is proposed to have information detailing the manifold attractions of Canterbury and its scenic beauties prominently displayed at the exhibition, and in addition it is intended to place before visitors to tho Exhibition accurate, complete and carefully com piled information concerning the economic and social life of Canterbury assembled in booklet and folders of attractive appearance. The cinema will also be made use of in the campaign, and already arrange ments have been made with the Government cinematographer to visit < n-
terburv on December 19 and remain until the following Saturday. An itinerary has already been arranged by Mr Climie and during the photographer’s stn.fr the best use will be made of his time in taking the province’s beauty spots and individual features.
