SCHOOLS’ TOURNAMENT. The third morning’s play in the int«rsocondary schools’ tennis tournament took place at. the Avonside and Dinwood courts this morning. The remaining games in tho various handicap sections were decided. Tli© foliowine are the results:— GIRLS' HANDICAP DOUBLES. Semi-final—Misses Pounsford and English. (15 S-6) beat Misses Holmes and Armstrong (15 6-6), 6-2; Misses Turner and Acland (15) beat Miss'-e Mortland and Mockett (15 1-6). 6-5. In the final Misses Turner and Acland were leading 6-3 when the game was postponed until Monday, owing to the collapse of one of the players. COMBINED HANDICAP DOUBLES. Third round—Mies Turner and England (5-6 35) beat Miss Cassey and Debenham (15 1-6), 6-1; Miss English and Comber (16) beat Miss .Acland and Dowling (scr), 6-4; Miss G. Rankin and Temple (scr) beat Mists M. Rankin and Bagge (owe 3 5). 6-5: Miss Blackwell and Spicer (2-6 15) beat Miss Mortland and Mehrtens (1-6 15), 6-4. Semi-final—Miss Turner and England bpat Miss English and Comber. 6-5: Miss (i. Rankin and Temple beat Miss Blackwell and Spicer. 6-4. Final—Miss G. Rankin and Temple beat Miss Turner and England. 9-5. BOYST HANDICAP SINGLES. .Semi-final—Crawshaw (3-6 15) beat Bond (1-6 15), 6-5; Temple (scr) beat Ryburn (2-6 15), 6-1. Final—Temple beat Crawshaw, 9-8. BOYS’ HANDICAP DOUBLES. Final—Bagge and Dowling (scr) beat Temple and England (8-6 15), 9-5. EASTER TOURNAMENT. In the men’s doubles final of the Canterbury championship®, Goss and Greenwood beat Glanville and Sheppard, 6-1, 6-2. Greenwood was playing the beat of the feur and Goss was also in good form. Their opponents made a good many mistakes. Sheppard’i? ovez’head work was very poor, and Glanville did not seem to strike form all through the game. The final of the first grade combined handicap in the Easter touinament resulted in Mrs Hickman and Field (owe 3-6 15) beating Miss Spears and Borrows (owe 15 £-6). 9-8.
