REVIVAL OF TRADE.

In a message to Captain Gee, V.C., who was defeated for Woolwich at the general election, and who now is the Conservative candidate for the Newcastle bye-election against Mr Arthur Hends>rson (Labour) and Mr Barnes (Wee Free), Mr Bonar Law says: “ The only hope of relieving unemployment is a revival of trade, which is beginning to appear. Confidence in such a revival, which, would defeat Socialism, is increasing greatly.” A bye-election for the Newcastle-on-Tyne seat has been necessitated by the death of Mr J. N. Bell (Labour), who v as elected at the general election with a majority of 3085 votes.
