AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

MEETING OF COUNCIL. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. December 4. At a meetiup of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Council to-night. tentative dates in the itinerary for the proposed visit of the American team were considered. It was reported that most of the centres had already forwarded guarantees towards the expenses. A letter was received from Mr Wall, eport.s secretary of the British Empire Exhibition, stating that it, was the wish of the Sports Council that a series of interimperial events should take place at Wembley Park during the exhibition, and expressing the hope that New Zealand would send a team when sending competitors to the Olympic Gaines. Tho Otago Centre advised that February IT was the beet date for holding the championship events. The council decided to lake over the control of all amateur cycling events. The Nelson Cycle Club was affiliated Victor Venables, of Gisborne, was reinstated.
