1 adies and Gentlemen : On December the 7th you have the privilege of electing your representative for the next three years. In my opinion such representative should possess those qualifications:— 1- INITIATIVE. He should be capable of initiating measures for your general welfare, independently of piartv control. 2 CONSTRUCTIVE ABILITY. In nil his measures for the public welfare, he must possess the ability to act constructively, and to set his lace sternly against destructive proposals . 3. SUPPORT This qualification is necessary for the support of all measures enacted for the common weal of the community 4. COMMONSENSE. Your representative should, be in the position to use his commonsensc in matters of emergency. 5 Summing ail up, the repicsentativ© cl Christchurch South needs above all things to be a progressive student, ready to move with the times upon sound, sane lines. J submit to you Indies and gentlemen that I have shown these qualifications in the present political campaign ; insomuch that [ have been a lone hand fighter all the way through. Support the man who has shown he ear. fight for himself, and doing so, can fight just as well for you. Respectfully soliciting your wholehearted support on Thursday, December 7tli.—Yours most cordially. ROBERT M. THOMSON. Independent Reform Candidate. 86 Armagh St., Christchurch. December 4, 1922. 23
