The Akaroa Hoi ticultural Association bcla a very successful rose show on Thursifla y in the Oddfellows* Hall. Though rather late iu the season, there ua« a good display of blooms, and in some classes the competition was keen. Messrs Hawkes and Honors (Christchurch) officiated as judges. in tho evening there was a, promenade con - cert, which was weU attended. Songs and musical items were given bv Mesdames Graham and Julius, Messrs Keegan and Julius and Mi- F. Armstrong ihe president (Air G.
