i CONGREGATIONAL MEETING. 1 j The annual meeting: in connection with “• j the Trinity Congregational Church a- , i held on Wednesday. After the tea. meet* ; ing. the pastor, the Rev H. J. Unfr T? n , 1 introduced the organiser of the AucKiann 1 , Sunday School Dnioiw Miss F. S. Warner. The annual report, presented by the bon • ! eeo (Mr W. Wilkinson) stated that during , j the past, twelve months tho church hart | just held its own. The services ana , j monthly communion had been quite as ' i well attended as in the past. but. there was room for improvement. A tribute - was paid to the work of the pastor. Tho year started with a membership of IST, ' 48 being on the non-resident roll. During k tho year two prominent members died. 1 Mr S. C. Owen, who had been voluntary organist for a period of twenty-five years, and a deacon for many years, and Mrs William Bull, who had been a devoted worker in the Sabbath School and a proj minent member of the Ladies’ Guild, i j There was n credit balance, due to the . ( splendid efforts of tho Ladies' Guild, as--1 stated by choir and friends. During the ' j year, some very laudable schemes had 1 t been placed before the Deacon by the ■ property steward, Mr W. Congreve, senr.. and it was hoped that in the near future something practical would result. ’ Mrs Tiorimer. hon secretary of tho i Ladies’ Guild, presented the report for the * year. During the winter months two so- . cial evenings were held, the proceeds augmenting the Guild funds. The annual sale of work held on September 2S was a great success. The report concluded by tbanking the men of the congregation i for their assistance. In connection wit.li the Young People's 1 Guild the report stated that the past j season was most successful. Since the 1 session closed two very successful rambles 5 to Diamond Harbour and the Hills were ' muoh enjoyed by members'and friends. ‘ The balance-sheet showed a credit balance ‘ of £2O lGs 7d.
