ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
AN INFANT’S DEATH. The inquest on the seven-days*-old male child of John and Cathrine Sutherland, who died in the train between Aylesbury and Sandy Ivnolls yesterday morning, was continued this morning. Dr A. B. Pearson, who conducted a post mortem examination of the deceased, said that the body was well developed and well nourished. There were traces of generalised meningitis and pneumonia. Death was due to coma associated with pneumonia and meningitis. To the Coroner : The train journey had nothing to do with the child’s death. It could have only lived a few hours. A Verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence.
