(Reserved for late news received after the paper has gone to press.) SPARROW SHOOTING. The Christchurch Gun Club shot a sparrow match at its grounds this afternoon. The competition took the form of a match between teams selected. by the treasurer, Mr W. R. Heruery, and the secretary. Mr D. S. Dennehy. The conditions were 8 birds, handicap distance, for a sweepstakes of 10s per man as prize-money, half to go to the winning team, the balance being divided between the top score rs. The secretary's team won by 74 birds to 73. The highest scorers were:— L. Moffa.t 19sds. S. Watson 21yds, S. eXate lSyds, W. lleid 21yds, A. 11. Kim her 21 yds, who each shot the possible 8 birds. Tharo were 12 competitors in each team. A claybird match was then ehot off. nineteen competing. E. Moffatt 12yds and F . Preece 18yds scored the possible and divided the stake. Mr G. N.
