OBITUARY.

H. J. H. ELLIOTT. [Per Press Abstociation.! WELLINGTON, June 16. The death has occurred of Mr Huntly John Harry Elliott, at one time a prominent ' member of the Public Service. Deceased was born in Auckland in 1813 and entered the service in 1858 under the Stafford Government In 1877 he became Under-Secretary for Lands and later was given the administration of the Mines Department. He retired from the service in 1905. Since then he has acted on several commissions. He was a prominent Freemason and took a keen interest in bowling.
