COMMONWEALTH CENSUS.

(Received June 16, 10.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, June 16Interiin census figures show that the population of the Commonwealth is 5,500,000, New South Wales 1,068,000, Victoria 754,000, Queensland 398,000, South Australia 247,000, West Australia 175,000, Tasmania 107,000. These figures entitle New South Wales to an additional seat in the House of Representatives at the expense of Victoria.
