PIONEER SPORTS CLUB.
* MOTOR. RUN. The second motor run of the season was held by the Pioneer Sports Club to Waihora Park. The weather looked threatening and prevented many from attending, but one hundred and fifty motorists and their friends were present. Games were enjoyed and keen competition was made in tho various events Tho potato race was won by Roper and Hinds; thread-the-needle, iiussell and Miss Maxwell; serpentine race (side-chairs) W Jones, (solo) Thomas; boys’ race, Q. Q oo n' man; girls’ race, Mies A. Goodman; voumr ladies' raqo, Miss E. Goodmanthrec-ler-et'd race, Roper and Turner; married ladies’ race, Mrs &’. Brown. Miss E. Goodman gave a demonstration run of 60yds, and registered tho lime of 6 ,4-ssco. A number of motorists interviewed the rtfficiala of the course with a view to a motor carnival at Motuknrara Tho proposition was warmly supported and a promise given to heln in every way should the carnival bo held. The motorists returned to lown at six o’clock, having a j>cnt a very enjoyable day.
