BREACH OF GAMING ACT. [Prr Press Association.] PALMERSTON NORTH, February 2. Mr Stout, S.M., gave reserved judgincnt to-day in the case in which (Joliinson and Cunningham were charged with having committed a Urcach of the Gaming Act by disposing of certain property by chance. The prosecution was the result of a New Year’s Eve. scheme to draw trade- A person paid a. shilling and received in exchange a ticket entitling him to an article hearing a number tho same as the ticket from a collection of articles- The Magistrate held that the scheme was a lottery and fined defendants £lO and costa.
