A BIG PROJECT.
TEMPORARY TOWN HAIL. TO ENTERTAIN PRINCE. Dr Thacker intends to call a meeting of citizens to form a Royal Reception Committee for tho entertainment of the Prince of Wales on his visit to Christchurch, probably in May. Ho intends, also, to put forward a scheme for erecting on some suitable vacant block, a temporary' Town Hall, and he suggests that; sufficient citizens should guarantee £IOOO each for the purpose. The toll could bo used for dances and other entertainments until the completion of a'permanent town ball. •; Dr Thacker intends to push the project for a Town Hall and war memorial to/ such a point that the Prince of Affiles will be able to lay the fouuda4iopf stone.
