Hnrhc.tt, who presided, presented Mr Grigsby with two Morris chair-.,■ 0110 behalf of a largo circle of friends and Mr Grigsby suitably responded Hr G. J. Reakos, Lirector-Gcneral of the Agricultural Department, attended the conference of wheatgrenvera in this city to-day. Ho will return to Wellington this evening. “ J lie Hon V\. Nosworthy, Alinister for Agriculture, arrived in Christchurch this morning and attended tho conference of wheatgrowers in tho Provincial Council Chamber. Ho intends to motor to his homo near Ashburton this afternoon, and to spend the week end there. He will attend a conference arranged by the Canterbury Progiess League in Christchurch on Tuesday afternoon. Amongst the arrivals from the north to-day were Professor Hunter, Hi* Arlow.
