HODG INS—COLLINS, A very pretty wedding took place at the Roman Catholic Cathedral, Christchurch, on Wednesday morning, when Aiiss Alary Theresa (Cis) Collins, second daughter of Airs P. Collins and the lata Air Al. A. Collins, of Roscommon, Ireland, was married to Air Michael Hodgins, son of Air P. Hodgins, Tipperary. Ireland. The Rev Rather Aiurpliy ofiiciaicd, and celebrated the nuptial mass. The bride, who was given away by Air Al. .Dwyer, wore a beautiful wedding gown of ivory satin, trimmed w.th Limerick lace and embroidered with pearls, the court train be.ng lined wnh pale pink georgette. She wore a lianaembroidered tulle veil and » wreath of orange blossoms (lent by Mrs Al. Dwyer), and carried a bouquet of wlme flower* and fern with ribbon streamers. The brido was attended by her sit.hr, Aiiss Maggie Collins, as bridesmaid, who wore a hand-embroidered nniie crepe do chino dress and' a hat of violet silk straw and georgette trimmed w;!h French flowers. She carried a bouquet of mauve and pink sweet peas and lent tied, with mauve streamers. Air Charles Hodgins, of Palmerston North (cousin of the bridegroom), acted as best man. After the wedding a reception was held at the Cadena Tea Roams, and the usual toasts were honoured. Tho bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold chain necklet with a diamond pendant, and to the bridesmaid ho gave a necklet nnd pendant. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a signet ring. Air and Mrs Hedging were the recipients of many useful and valuable presents. The happy couple left by the, midday express for tho south, where the honeymoon will be spent. who was given away by her father, wore white georgette, daintily embroidered with tiny pearls and silver over pale pink georgette mounted on lace. The long, nun ow train was of white crepe de chine lined with pink georgette, embroidered with pearls and orange blossom. A filmy tulle handembroiclcred veil and a sheaf of Madonna lilies completed a dainty bridal attire. She was attended by her sister, Miss Holly Boot, who wore apricot georgette embroidered in gold and tiny pearls over apricot crepo do chine and gold lace, with black lacc and georgette hat trimmed with tiny cerise flowers. She carried & bouquet, of apricot coloured roses and cerise begonias. -Little Miss Duke Thurlow, of Belfast, made a dainty flower girl, in white silk, witn pale pink lint, and she carried a basket of pink flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Walter Beaumont. A reception was afterwards held at the residence of Mrs George Beaumont. Norwood Street, Mrs Boot receiving the guests in a dress of black georgette over black Japan taffetas, embroidered in gold. The bride and bridegroom left later for Queenstown, Mrs Foster travelling in a smart black and white check tailored costume with a white Leghorn hat irimmgd with flat ostrich feathers.

Major and Mrs Norton Francis, who have been spending the holiday season at Mount Cook, have returned to their home in Itossall Street. A very enjoyable evening was spent at Mr and Mrs Stalker’s, “Almadale,” Woodeml, last Tuesday. Songs were given by the guests, and after supper games were played. The evening was brought to a close witli the singing of “A'ald Lang Syne.” Mrs I). Stalker and her children arc spending a few weeks with Mi's L. Stalker, Gapes Valley, Geraldine. Bishop Mulei (formerly Bishop of Nelson) and .Airs Mules will celebrate their golden wedding on Monday next at Nelson. Airs Alules was Aliss Laura Blundell, a member of the well-known Blundell family, pioneer settlers in the Ne.sou district, Captain and Mrs Blundell having come over from India in the very early days of the colony. Airs Iriclclen-Taylor, of Wellington, the only daughter, is staying in Nelson with her parents for the happy occasion. The eldest sou, Air F. Alules. resides in ling]and. Dr P. Alules, of Bulls, and the llov Edmund Alules, ono of the clergy of the Christchurch Diocese, also are members of the family.
