GERMAN CLAIMS.
Australian and X.Z. Cablo Association. (Received August 23, 2.20 p.m.) LONDON, August 22.' A German communiques says:—Repeated British attacks in tho salient at Thiepval and Poziercs were repulsed. We lost a projecting angle in hitter fighting at Guiliemont, and the enemy temporarily penetrated. Wo recaptured lost trenches at Estrees and Sozectfurt. | Our cavalry repulsed the enemy on j the Stokhod. The Russians penetrated . trenches at Pienaki and Zwydyn. | All the Serbian positions at Malka and Nidzepkmina were taken, and wo drove the French across tho Struma between Butkova, and Tahinos. and captured Siuliniea and the Englanma ridge.
