Mr Long, in introducing the Bill erabodying tho Cabinet compromise, said it was a measuro ot : military necessity urged upon tho Government by its military advisors. The question of unattested married men would be dealt with in a later measure. The Bill would be read a third time next week, and then there would bo a recess. Sir Edward Carson said ho favoured compulsion, but not. tho unfair compulsion of this Bill. If-was impossible to conceive anything more unfair, illogical and unreasonable. If tho. Bill was persisted in ho would divido the House. What right, he said, had tho Government to single out these men when it dared not bring in a genuine Bill? Mr Stephen Walsh was loudly cheered when <ho 'demanded tho instant introduction of general compulsion.. AIR SUCCESSES. The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, April 27. At three o'clock this morning one of ■ our aeroplanes attacked a Zeppelin near Zeebnigge. at a height of 4000 metres, dropping incendiary bombs. A Zeppelin was apparently hit at tho same time near Osteud. Another machino dropped bombs on a German torpedo-boat, which was also apparently hit. A French aeronaut attacked a Fokkor machino, which fell in our lines near Hoeville, north of 'Luneville. The enemy aviator was unwounded and was made prisoner.
