ROUND VERDUN.
ENEMY STILL KEPT OFF. The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON. April 27 (4.10 p.m.L North of the Aisne an attack mado yesterday permitted us to take a small wood and seventy-two unwounded prisoners. Several enemy reconnaissances, attempting to attack our trenches in the Paissy and Troyon sectors, during the course of the night were dispersed by our lire. West of the Mouse there is an intense bombardment of <•.;;:• positions in the wood of Avocourt, and our first lines north of 3Till 301. East of the Mcusc the artillery is active. In the Woevre the enemy executed a bombardment with heavy calibre, guns on Haudromont and Ronvaux. Our artillery energetically replied. In Lorraino the enemy attempted a coup do main on our small posts north of Embermenil, but was repulsed with loss.
