THREE MEMBERS OF CREW LOST [Pmi Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 30. The Defence Minister has received a communication from Captain Hall Thompson, of the Philomel, which, as is j generally know>i, is operating "some- | where east of Suez " Captain Hall Thompson reports:— " The following three members of the crew lost their in action against the Turks on September 25:—Georgo Phillips, chief pretty officer; George Richard TaJmay, leading seaman; and Bruce Sydney Beagley, able seaman; all men of the Royal Navy, lent for service with the Philomel. One Uied of heat stroke. They were on the strengih of two maxim gun crews, which were landed from the ship to cooperate with forces ashore."
