NEW BRIGHTON PROGRESS LEAGUE.
A meeting of the New Brighton Progress League was held in the Kia Tea Rooms last evening. Mr <J. HOpie presided, and there waa an attendance of about seventy ratepayers j and residents. The rules of the League were presented by the executive and were approved. The election of officers for the nrst year resulted as followsPr&siawat, ! Mr O. H. The following nominations were re- ; '-civod for candidates to contest the coming Borough Council elections: — : Centre and west. F. Christian, J. Buxton, G. E. Goodwin, J. Ashley ' -and S. TTvvtt; north, Messrs A. Leaver and ThVo Cox ; south, Messrs Light I and Holland.
