ADDITIONS TO THE COLLECTION. Mr C. A. C. Cuningham, who returned to Christchurch from his travels abroad a few weeks ago, has presented Canterbury Museum with a collection of coins. They represent the coinage of Peru, Columbia., Ecuador, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Argentine, tho Dutch Indies, CevTon, Russia, tho Transvaal, the United States, tho Straits Settlements, the Netherlands, Egypt and Turkey. They are in the fresh acquisition case this week, and later on will be added to tho largo collection in tho Ethnological Room. The Rov F. R. Inwood has presented a copy of the London "Times" of October 3, 1798, containing a notice of Nelson's victory at the Battle of the Nile, and also a copy of the first issue of the "Lyttelton Times," dated Saturday, January 11, 1851. In the New Zealand Bird Room this week there will bo two cases of fresh specimens. One will contain three skuas, and the other three natlva pigeons, one presented by Mr J. Glynau, and two by Mr C. Stanley.
