The industrial dispute at tho Lyttelton wharves is approaching its crisis. 'Tho watersiders have declined to accede to the employers'- ultimatum with regard to registering under the Arbitration Act, and have referred tho Christchurch . Committee to the Labour executive in Wellington. Tho shipping companies and other employers concerned are expected to begin cargcrworking at Lyttelton early this week. Matters are quiet and orderly at. Lyttelton. The Maori has resumed her running in the ferry service. t She left Lyttelton on Saturday night for Wellington largely manned by officers and engineers from other • ships. Some masters from- Duriedin worked as stokers and deck hands. The work was allotted by ba-llot. A large Labour meeting in Christchurch on Saturday > night carried a resolution - protesting against the arrest of the Federation , leaders. There'are no' new developments of importance in Wellington or Auckland. At Dunedin the employers will begin work on the wharves with Arbitration labour this' week, and 300 special constables have been sworn in to) protect the workers.
