AEROPLANE,

THE CASUAL'S CAMP,

Territorial affairs are quiet in Christchurch in the pause between camps. There is some speculation among tlio younger officers as to th© destination of the aeroplane that has been presented to the New Zealand Government for Defence purposes. Probably it will find a resting-place in Canterbury, where there are ample areas for practice. Casuals, that is Territorials who have been unable for various reasons to attend regular camps, will go into camp at Templeton on Thursday, falling-in at 9 a.m. at the King Edward Barracks. An advance party of the Ist Regiment will leave- the Barracks at 9 a.m. today to pitch oamp for the Casuals. The mounted Casual Camp, for men of the Ist Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry and the Bth South Canterbury Regiments will be held in the Templet on Domain from May 12 to May 24. Horses will not be required. Any member of the unit who fails to attend will be proceeded against. The articles to be taken into camp will be:—Record book, blankets, knife, fork,. _ spoon, plate and mug (enamel), shaving kit, cleaning gear, two pairs of boots (biack), two pairs of socks, change of underclothing, soap, towels. Railway passes will be forwarded to applicant,';, if requests roach the adjutant's office before May 5. Country baggage will bo consigned by each individual to Defence Department, Temple ton. Christchurcli baggage must bo at the Barracks notlater than 9 a.m. ou May 12. The two oveninc; sports programmes have been prepared for Friday, May 9. and Fridav. May 23, in King Edward Barracks. There v.ill bo a parade of tlio Ist Kpffimont on both dales at 7.80 p.m., immediately prior to the sports.
