LONDON, April 25. In the House of Commons, Colonel Seely stated, in reply to questions, that the Clement-Bayard airship had been purchased for £IB,OOO, and dismantled within eight weeks of the purchase as unserviceable.
POST OFFICE REVENUE
A BIG SURPLUS. The Postmaster-General, in submitting the Post Office estimate of revenue, said that there had been a remarkable expansion of the business. He estimated that the net profit for the current year would be £5,860,000. This profit had saved the Chancellor from having to ask for increased taxation. There had been a remarkable development of traffic on the oversea cables. The reduction in the Press rates had resulted in doubling the the traffic in three years.
