LOCAL AND GENERAL.

The training of the Territorial Force of the dominion is a subject. which interests the whole community, consequently, the fine series of illustrations which will appear in next week's "Canterbury Times," depicting incidents in connection with the camp of the infantry of the Wellington Military District, which was held at Oringi, near Dannevirke, recently, will he greatly appreciated by subscribers to the popular magazine. There will be numerous snapshots and group pictures, and a splendid panoramic picture of the camp. No fewer than six pages of the illustrations will be devoted to describing Wanganui and its many places of interest. It has been necessary to increase the pictorial pages considerably in number in order to present this selection of photographs in adequate style, and the result is very satisfactory, on account of the attractiveness of the pictures. There will be a of topical events dealt witli *in caricature, and on another pag 1 the journal's sketch artist will deaf wj i!x the United States tariff reform in a neat cartoon conception. In the general miscellany the following subjects will be treated:—The suffragette movement at Home (the picture showing the destruction of a railway station by some militant inembers of woman's suffrage), the flight of a Bleriot monoplane at Auckland, the floods in the Clutha district, the recent raid on a- Avoman's arsenal in the West End of London, and scenes about the dominion. A page will also be given to portraying some of the picturesque residences in and around Christchurcli. All the Canterbury trout stream* were reported clear this morning. Cloudy skies prevailed at all stations above Timaru this morning. Light easterly winds and a falling barometer were reported throughout the dominion and rain fell in Auckland.

The following vessels are expected to be within range of the radio stations to-night-Auckland—Wimmera, Victoria. Ulimaroa, Maitai. Moeraki, Tahiti Moana, Hawke's Bay, Merehana, Maunganui, Manuka and Ruapehu. Wellington—Victoria, Wimmera, Lliniaroa, Tahiti, Moana and Moeraki.
