" Tiie tramwaj employees' cotrrait--1 tee,'' ran the report of the Tramway Board yesterday, " has requested that a pass should be issued to its secretary on the ground that the facilities thus given would conduce to the harmonious working of the traffic staff. The committee recommends that it should be granted for one year to the present secretary." The recommendation, was agreed to. in the railway guide issued ab the different stations there is inserted a map of the dominion which shows tha various'railway routes, 'also the deerstalking and trout fishing areas. The map, however, fails to indicate that both these branches of sport are to be obtained in the vicinity of Hannier Springs, where there are really good facilities for them.. This was brought under the notice of Mr Q. W. Forbes, M.P., when he was at Hanmer recently on electioneering business, by Mr John. Dodds, a business resident. Mr Forbes readily agreed that the omission ought to be remedied and stated that he would take prompt measures to bring tho matter before the notice ot the authorities, with a view of endeavouring to have it rectified in futuxs issues cf ti'.c guides
