THE SYDNEY STRIKE.
—■■■» TO-DAY'S MEETING OF THE MEN. United Press Association—By Eleotrio Telegraph—OopyrigFit. (Received November A s 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 4. Mr Carmichael intimated his willingness to attend to-day's meeting of wharf labourers and address the men. It is judged from the number of individual complaints by the strikers that the men to-day will vote to return to work. That result, however, was expected at previous meetings, and an air of uncertainty prevails. MELBOURNE, November 4. Mr Spencer, a member of the House of Representatives, and president of the Australian Workers' Union, declared that no Union could support the wharf labourers' action, which was reprehensible from any view point. The council of the waterside workers forwarded a resolution to be read at today's meeting regretting the men's action, and calling upon them, forthwith, to resume work on the terms of an f agreement honourably entered into.
