Tho wheat yield was 28,000,000 bushels. The butter manufactured was 72,000,6251b, which was a record, and the export was 27,047,481 lb, valued at £1,223,518. For the first time in history they wore going to take the surpluses of the Government business undertakings out of revenue and place thein in the Public Works Fund, to be used for the developing of tho country and not the saving of taxation. Fresh taxation was indicated for the purpose of establishing a sinking fund to pay the public debt. Last year they received £1,405,371 less from tho Commonwealth than in tho preceding year. The salo of funded stock in Sydney was £4,963,643, and it was gratifying to know that they were able to raise locally all the money required for loan works. The Harbour Trust showed record - work. The western channel would soon be at tho proposed minimum depth at low tide—37ft—which would enable deeper draught vessels to navigate it safely. Notwithstanding the increase tho estate agents could not meet the demands for houses, and the 'substantial prosperity was shown br tho fact that of nearly £400,000 charged for water and sewerage rates only £7l was outstanding. The balance at the credit of depositors in the Savings Bank was £16,026,132, an increase of over £2,000,000, and the largest increase in tho history of tho bank. The advances made to settlers were being promptly repaid. The production of wool, wheat and butter showed higher results than in any previous year. The sheep in tho State at the end of 1010 numbered 45,500,000.
