'i'lic Canterbury Flying Club Hew a race from Ivaitoke on Saturday. Sixty-threo birds, representing _ five owners, competed. Tho birds worn liberated by tho Btationmaater in fine weather, wi.th a slight north-east wind blowing. Tho winner was Mr W. 11. Ilnggcr's bird, which flew tho distance of 222 miles in filir 3min fiasco. The following' is the result, giving (he velocity per minute: Mr W. -11. J1 agger's bird, li'Gvd.f; Mr K. Ashworth's bird, 1272 yds; Mr .F. I). Wilson's bird, 1271 yds; Mr'll. Browning's bird, 12G7 yds; Mr J. A\ r . Blanc'liard'a bird, liMUyds. . The Chrislchurch Homing Pigeon Soeiery flew off its annual produce Yearling nice, froui Kiiitoke on Saturday, only birds wearing 11)10 mctnl rinpa being eligible to compete. JCinety-niglri birds were nominated, bill only forty-six competed, representing iiftee.n lolls. Tho birds were in charge of the stationmaster, who liberated them at, U.ttl fun. in good weather. with a slight head wind. The winner was Mr A. Hancock's Hopeful, which flew the distance of 221 miles 1710 yards air line in 51ir ■l'lmin 53see. The following is the result: —A. Hancock's Hopeful, 3132 yds per minute; J.
