FIRES.
[Per Press Association.] BLENHEIM, August 18. A fire occurred in the centre of the town in the grocery store of Messrs Schauer and Neville. The top storey was gutted and most of the stock in the rooms below was damaged by water. The brigade did good l work and saved, the block, working solidly for two hours. The insurances on the stock in the Guardian Office amounted to £6OO. The building, which was owned by the M'Kenzie Cai'rying Co., was insured for £l5O in the Royal Office.
