ANTI-RECIPROCITY DEMONSTRA.
TION. United Press Association—By Elactrio Telegraph- -Copyright. (Received August 18, 9.30 a.m.) VANCOUVER, August 17. Mr R. L. Borden, the Conservative leader, at a great anti-reciprocity demonstration at Chatdam, Ontario, said that Canada had not forgotten the British ideals of reciprocity within the Empire, w r hich was good enough for Canada, and such should be the reply that Mr Taft should receive to his proposals to divert the dominion from the true path of Empire.
THE ELECTION CAMPAIGN. (Received August 18, 1.5 p.m.) VANCOUVER, August 17
The election campaign is now in full swing. Sir Wilfrid Laurier is touring Quebec and vigorously supporting reciprocity, but is avoiding to a large extent any discussion on the Navy question, which, his French Canadian opponents strongly oppose. The Opposition leader, Mr R. L. Borden, is gaining a large vote in Ontario, where the annexation possibilities are ; strongly re. sented.
