Mr Andrew 1? isher, interviewed, declared that he had been consulted regarding the Anglo-Japanese treaty, but it was so obviously delicate a subject that he did not discuss it publicly. Referring to the Imperial Conference, ha felt sure that it would grow even to the extent of embracing other nations. He declined to criticise Sir Joseph Ward's proposal for an Imperial Legislature. Mr Fisher ako declined to discuss the suggested remission of the Customs duty on sugar. He declared that ho would resubmit the referendum questions at next elections, probably in a modified form.
