At the Appeal Court Sir Robert Stout, Mr Justice Williams, Mr Justice Denniston and Mr Justice Edwards sat this morning to consider a petition by tho New Zealand Insurant:© Company for leave to amend its memorandum of association to enable the company to undertake to execute trusts of all kinds, to do guarantee business, to enter into partnership for the sharing of profits with any person or limited liability company carrying on business, to acquire or disposo of shares or stock debentures, to promote any limited companies, and to establish, subsidise or aid any institution, association, etc.. for tho benefit of the company's employees or ex-employees. The petition was moved into Ihe Appeal Court from tho Supreme Court on tho order of Mr Justice ICdwards., in order if possible that some principles might be laid down as a guide for future applications. Mr Richmond, Auckland, appeared in support of tho application. The Court reserved its decision.
