NEW ZEALAND TROTTING ASSOCIATION. The New Zealand Trotting Association met to-day, present—Messrs A. L. Myers (vicepresident), C. S. Howell, R. 0. Duncan, J, H. Pollock, AV. Hargru&ves and W. G-. Garrard. A. T. Lake forwarded an appeal from Wait.ara against the decision of the Wainiate Plains Trotting Club in its action in dismissing bis protest against, Erin Tracy being awarded the stake in the Ladies' Bracelet at, the club's meeting:, on the ground that the home had paljoped during the race. Lake claimed the stake on behalf of his horse Hawapuku. On Mr Duncan's motion, it was decided to forward the letter to the Waimate Plains Club for an explanation, and to ask for a copy of the minutes of the- adjourned meetii.g of stewards. It. was a«rr?f;d that the Association should be moreen ted by Mr Myers and Mr Pollock at a conference of lhe New Zealand Sporting League, to be held in Wellington, to protect the interests of the sport. The Greymouth Trotting Club wrote sfatitisr that it wocld like to claim January 2 and 3 as racinfr dates next year, instead of December 30 and January 3 and 4, and that (he spring meeting' would be held on October 21 and "20. It was agreed that the Association should protoct the dates as far as roesiblo. The Oaruaru Club applied foi October 23 for t> racing date, and it was agreed to reply that the club must affiliate to the Association. Mr Pollock explained the delay that hud occurred to prevent the M,anav,atu TrottingCI lib from holding a meeting, as it nad been registered in September. The club had been granted permission to race on the Mauawatu Racing Club's course at Awapmii, but the permission had been withdrawn. Then tli» club had been granted permission to race en the. It was iipecd that if dates for a meeting' were submitted, tho Association would consider the granting of permission for the Ashkurst-Pohavjginu, course. An application was received from B. F. Spews for the removal of his disqualification. It wa-i decided to tell him to apply again in six months, and to fine him r2 for breach of the rules. A letter was received from the Paparua County Council asking the Association to cooperato with it in preventing the nuisance caused by boys riding horses in trainin;? along; the footpaths in the Riccarton and Sockburn districts. It was agreed that lh<j letter should be forwarded! to the three local clubs. It was decided to withdraw the amateur license of J. G. Sea lon, pending the receipt of information asked for. A bonus of £5 5s was (minted towards the publication of the " New Zealand Turf Register."
