The King Edward Memorial Executive announces its intention to erect a dignified statue. A BREWERY RING. The proprietor of a Wagga bre\yery, in giving evidence before the Wages Board, said that a brewery ring was spreading its tentacles over New South Wales. A large number of country breweries had been compelled, to close, and others would have to follow. In Victoria practically all the small establishments had been crushed out. SHORTAGE OF LABOUR. The Trades Hall authorities admit that there is a shortage of labour in the various industries afc the present time, and claim that this is the result of labour legislation, and the confidenceof the employers in the Labour Governments. THE WRECK OF THE NEW GUINEA. The rehearing of the steamer New Guinea wreck case resulted in the confirmation of the previous finding, under which the captain's certificate was suspended for six months. SAFE ARRIVAL. The Ulima.roa : s horses arrived in good condition. BANANAS. BRISBANE, July 5. Mr Tudor promised a deputation of banana growers that he would consider the placing of a higher import duty on Fiji bananas, with a view to developing the Queensland industry. KELLERBERRIN TRAGEDY PERTH, July 5. Smith was found guilty of the murder of Wake and Butler, the victims of the Kellerberrjn tragedy.
