THE RIVERINA.

VICTORIA'S CLAIM. United Press Association—By Eteotrio Telegraph—Copyright. CReceived July 5, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 5. 'Victoria's claim to the Riverina is the revival of an old matter, and the feeling in political circles here is that there is small chance of the claim succeeding. The letter making the claim suggests that the true construction of the Imperial statute fixing the boundary of the two States should be define itely settled and invites the attention of the New South Wales Government to the manner in which this ean best be done. MELBOURNE, July 5. The Government was inspired in making tire claim to the Riverina by the victory which it obtained over South Australia in the recent boundary dispute relating to a stretch of territory on the eastern boundary. The matter is not taken very seriously here, and in some quarters it is looked upon as a revival of an old story, with a view to obscure the electoral issues at tho coming elections.
