LABOUR REPRESENTATION COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Labour Representation Committee was held in the Trades Hall on Monday evening, Mill. 11. Whiting presiding over a very largo attendance. Tho balance-sheet of tho municipal election, which showed a credit, was read and adopted. The organiser (Mr F. Meyer) was thanked for his services cud for the manner in which the caanpaign was conduct oil. it was unanimously decided to support t-ho Mayor's road scheme and to no all that was possible to get ratepayers to the \yoll in support of the proposal. It was decided to have circulars printed pointing out the benefits that would accrue to the city if th© scheme was carried. It was decided to endorse the action of tho Christchurch South and East branches of the Labour Party in selecting Messrs C 11. Whiting and H. Hunter to contest the seats at the parliamentary election, and render all the assistance possible to secure their return. 'The secretary reported having received £2O from the Drivers' Union and £25 from tho Bootmakers' Union for a fund to defray the expenses of the Labour candidates, and a committee was elected to draw up a manifesto in support of the Labour Party and its candidates.
