THEIR ACCOMMODATION IN NORTH PARK. The appeal of tlie Ladies' Hockey Association to the Domains Board for an improvement of the hockey grounds in North Park was reported on bv the Chairman of the Domains Board to-day. Mr Beswick said that the committee had considered the matter, and come to the conclusion that the best place to start operations was north-west of the plane avenue, oil the right-hand side of the path going towards the Riccarton gates. It would, however, mean the laying up of the grounds for two seasons, as a crop of potatoes would have to be put m. He suggested that a conference should be held with the Association to put the position clearly. The question of fees might also crop up, as the clubs playing in North Parle were paying only half the amount paid by the clubs in the South Park, where there were prepared grounds. The chairman's suggestion was agreed to. In regard to the request of the Rugby Union for an improvement in the playing grounds it was stated that the Board was still waiting for suggestions from the Union. A letter was read from the Albion Football Club, stating that as the ground occupied and improved by the club in South Park for twenty-five years had been taken from the club, without any reason, and given to the Y.M.C.A.. the club could not see its way to make any suggestions for the improvement of the grounds generally. It was resolved to ask the club for details of its expenditure, if any, on the ground.
