HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
WOOLSTON. A horticultural show, under the auspices of St John's Church, Wcolston, vms> held ia the Oddfellows' Hall on Thursday. There was a. good display of exhibits, in quality quite as good, and in numbers exceeding that of previous years. Mr Carpenter, of Governor's Bay, had a- stand of gladioli on exhibition. There was aJao a competition for cookery exhibits, for which there was a, considerable number or 'entries. Mr E. Nairn judged the horticultural exhibits, and M!r J. Grett tho cakes. Besides the show classes, there wero several stalls under the management of different ladies, and at those good business wasdone. The following were th© stall-holders: Produce, Mesdames Pruden, Chick and Haskell; dell, apron and handkerchief, Mfcsdames Barwick, Manger and Douglass; sweets, Mrs Scott and the Misses Rennie; refreshments, Mesclamas Day, Hunt and W.
