THE MARRIAGE LAW.
THE MACDONALD-BOSVILLE CASE. United Press Association—By Eleotrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 4, 10 a.m.) LONDON, March 3. Tu connection with the Mac Donald case Lord Mac Donald has withdrawn his opposition to the proof of Mr Bosville's legitimacy, but the case requires formal proof for the satisfaction of the Court.
Lord Skerrington, in the Edinburgh Court of Session in December, delivered judgment in the action by Alexander W. M. Bosville, of Thorpe Hall, Bridlington, who sued Lord Mac Donald of Slate, in the peerage of Ireland, Armadale Castle, Bkye, for declarator that by the marriage of Godfrey Mac Donald, afterwards third Lord Mac Donald, in 180b, the eldest son was legitimated, and that the pla' "k, the greatgrandson and iv heir malo of Godfrey Mac Dona .lis Lordship dismissed the action in so far as it concluded to have it declared that the plaintiff was the great-grandson and nearest heir male of the third Lord Mac Donald, but allowed a proof on the question of legitimacy. According to the statement of claim the claimant's S;reat grandfather eloped with Mis* jacoast, an illegitimate daughter of the Duke of Gloucester. They were married at the British Embassy in Paris, and a son and a daughter were born. Subsequently Lady Mac Donald insisted on being regularly married in England, A second son was afterwards born, and the claim was then raised that tho second marriage deprived the two elder children of the advantage of being born in wedlock. Mr Bosville made no claim on the Scottish estates of tho family or the Irish peerage, but only sought to have the legitimacy of his grandfather established.
