THE BUDDO SETTLEMENT.
SECTIONS ALLOTTED. The Canterbury Laud Board met at the Land Office, Christ-church, last evening to examine applicants for sections in the Buddo Settlement, near Belfast, which was acquired by the Government in order to provide homes for workmen employed in and around Belfast. There were seven applicants, but in only one case a ballot necessary. The following sections were allotted as the result of the examination:— Section 1, 4a 2r, half-yearly rental £3 16s, to Frederick Ellis, of St Albans. Section 9, Ba. Ir 37p, half-yearly rental £8 2s, to Mrs Alice Mary M'Leod, of Sefton. Section 11, 3a 3r 23p, half-yearly rental £4 8s Bd, to Joseph Percy Harrison, of Woolston. Section 12, 3a Ir lOp, with five-room-ed cottage, half-yearly rental, £3 18s 4d and a half-yearly payment of £7 4s 4d foi tv nty-one years on buildings, to William Alexander Cleland, of Belfast. Section 16, 6a lr 12p, half-yearly rental £7 18s, to James O'Uonnell, of Christchurch. An application for section 15 was lodged at the close of the proceedings. Ten sections still remain available for selection, the areas ranging from 3a to 4a lr 15p, and the half-yearly rentals from £2 19s t-o £5 Is 9d.
