I.— Answers must be written on the Coupon Form published weekly with each set of Puzzles. The numbers on the Coupon correspond with the numbers on the Puzzle. Full name and address of competitor to be added to ensure Prizes reaching the proper destination. Pen names will not be accepted. 2.— Envelopes containing the Coupon or Coupons must be addressed- to "Puzzle Editor, ' Canterbury Times, 1 Christchurch." Coupons can * be posted or delivered to the "Times" Office, either singly week by week, in batches, or altogether in one packet at the close of the competition. The latest date on which answers will be received will be duly announced on page 47 of the " Canterbury Times " of September 15. 3. — Competitors can send in as many sets of Coupons as they may desire, provided that each set must bear a distinguishing mark — "A," "B,", M -_c. 4.— No member of the Company's staff, nor any person connected with the Office, will be allowed to compete. * 5.— A Judge or Judges will be appointed, whose decision on all matters connected with the competition shall be final, and competitors may only enter on this understanding. / 6.— Prises will, be awarded as follows: — First prize £25 (Twenty-five pounds sterling) to the competitor ■ sending in the largest number of correct answers on any one set oj Coupons. Second prize £10 (Ten pounds sterling) to the coimpetitor (not winner of the first prize) sending in the next largest number of correct answers,' and so on with respect to the other prizes. 7. — In the event of ties!, the prizes -will, at the discretion of the Judges, be eitner divided or further puzzles will be set until the prizes be won outright. B.— The Proprietors wilt accept no responsibility for any loss or delay in the transmission of the Coupons, nOr for any accidental loss after delivery at the office of the Company, but every care will be exercised to prevent loss after delivery. POINTS OF INTEREST TO COMPETITORS. The. competition will close with tht. issue of Sept. 8. The final date on which .Coupons will be received will be announced later. Answers not written op the Coupon Form will not be accepted. Any number oif attempts to solve the Puzzle may be made. Mark each Coupon series "A," "B," " C, M ete., to keep them in sequence. Care should be exercised to write answers to each week's Puzzle only on the Coupon published in the same issue.
