• There is a <strange mountain, in the Death Valley reprion of Nevada. It is known as Mount Blanc, and consists entirely of borax. Mount Blanc is approximately 1500 feet high, and two miles in diameter. Frank M. Smith; of Oakland, owns the mountain absolutely, and thereby is said to control tae visible supply of borax in the world- The market value of this borax, where it lies is something more than £20 a ton.
