HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE.

That the popularity of bioscope en-! tertainments ie not waning was amply demonstrated at His Majesty's Theatre last evening, when the Royal Pictures Company made its weekly change of programme. The films were all new, and were shown to great advantage on the large screen. A picture of the match between the New "Zealand professional football team and New South Wales wa6 received with marked approval, and many of the players' faces were clearly recognisable. A portion of the immense crowd that attended, the game was also shown. A series entitled "The Memories of a Theatrical Trunk " was cleverly arranged, and , " Bachelorhood/' 5 a humorous film. I elicited hearty laughter. A very long and clear picture, " The Sleeping Beauty," was excellent in conception, the colouring being beautifully done. The picture was one of the best that has been shown in Christchurch. "Animated Snowballs," "The Hanging Lamp " and " A Poor Man's Romance " were among the best films shown, and the dramatic and humorous pictures were thoroughly enjoyable. Tomorrow afternoon a matinee will be given, at which children will be admitted to all parts of the circle and stalls for sixpence. The Royal Pictures will be shown in the Colosseum again next week, and special heating apparatus will be installed by the man- . agement in the building.
