[Pek Press Association.] AUCKLAND. June 5. A fierce north-east gale blew all last night, and caused considerable delay to shipping. TAIHAPE, June 5. Ohakune reports that a terrific gale raged last night. Trees and tents were blown down all over tho district. The gale is still raging, rendering it dangerous to go on the roads through falling trees ; many narrow escapes are reported. Trees are lying across the road to Horopito, and gangs of men are employed clearing it. A passenger train went over* the Waioru permanent line yesterday for the first time. The line is safe. WESTPORT, June 5. A sharp shock of earthquake was felt at 7.15 a.m.
