POULTRY SHOW.
» The Christchurch Poultry, Pigeon iiud Canary Club's show reopened at 10 a.m. to-d.iy, and was attended by a fair number of visitors in the morning. It will remain open till 5 p.m., and will reopen this evening from 6.30 p.m. until 9.30 p.m. It will be open again to-morrow. The judges gave their awards this morning for the best birds in the show, as follow: — Best cockerel, pen 445, Messrs Double and Wilson (Invercargill), Silver Wyandotte; best pullet, pen 273, Mr W. H. Turvey (Oamaru), Black Minorca; best Leghorn, pen 98, Mr A. Finlayson (Christchurch). In the bride class of the doll-dressing competition, the very highly commended award was given to Miss F. Kennard, not to Mrs Gimblett, as reported. A protest, which will be decided to-night, has been entered against the second award in the eamq class, on the ground that the rules were not observed by the competitor.
